Chesterfield's Aquarius cabaret club/nightspot first opened its doors in 1972. It became one of the most successful after dark entertainment venues in North East Derbyshire and outlasted contemporaries like Sheffield's Club Fiesta and Batley Variety Club.

It left an indelible mark in the DNA of generations of families and would attract coachloads from around the region every single weekend.

It was the venue that hosted the first headliner by Cannon & Ball and was even visited by hell raising actor Oliver Reed.
