Helping me to remember places that are no longer there. Love it.
What a wonderful book - so lovingly put together! I started at Sheffield Uni in 1975 - just wow - reading this I was 18 again!
Bought this as a present for my dad who was in his 20’s during 1970’s Sheffield. He absolutely loved it! 100% worth the money and then some. Will definitely look at other editions as gifts also. Thank you! My dad was over the moon
Wow - this book is SO much fun. I'd forgotten about the amazing time we had catching the coach from Chesterfield to the Hofbrauhaus. I even recognised people in the photos. Fantastic!
Brought back more than a few memories!! Recognised a few familiar faces among the many photos. I'm actually in one of the photos on the cover, bottom right in the centre of three of us,all dressed in denim. I remember the guy took the photo one night,I think he was from The Star. Being from down the road in Chesterfield we seldom saw the paper, but Olga greeted us a couple of weeks later with a brown envelope containing three copies. What a lady she was for sure, took no crap and commanded the utmost respect.
All in all a great book for anyone who was fortunate to walk down those stairs into the 'Wap@
As I read this wonderful book I could feel my hair growing back, the collar on my shirt expanding as my beer belly disappeared and I became 18 again. A great trip which brought back memories of my youth.
Excellent book! Can't wait to read it.
Brought back so many memories from my teenage years, all the clubs I went to. Fantastic book 5 stars
Never has a T-shirt gathered so much attention! I love it! And it's superbly made. Bring back 'grab a granny' - though I'm now probably older than the ladies I was chasing way back when!
It's a brilliant book as are all the rest. No self respecting Brummie should be without a copy. Crammed full of details of places I frequented and some that I had forgotten about. Also some I was asked to leave .lol The book is worth every penny.Jim and Ron Simpson have done a marvelous job and a huge thanks to Neil Anderson for making it all happen. Roll on Volume 2
Very well put together memerobillia book on 80's nights in Chesterfield saw a few faces that rang bells from my misspent youth there. If only I could go back and do it all again.
I loved this book! As a Rebecca's and Barbarella's regular it had lot's of reminders, loved the pictures of my old haunts although a bit shocked they look a bit dated! Very informative, it filled in gaps that I was too young to remember. Those were the days. Am sending one off to another Birmingham exile.
I purchased this book for a recently retired friend who (mis)spent much of his youth in these legendary clubs, and attending gigs in Brum.
I contacted DSO to arrange for a personalised message, which they duly obliged. The book arrived a little late for Christmas - but that had more to do with the Postal Strikes than anything else.
My friend is really pleased with the book, and the personal message included, and is happily telling me about the times he went to Mothers, Barbarellas, Liberty’s to dance and drink the night away.
This is a great read if you want to remember your younger days, brought back lots of memories for me
I loved going out in Liverpool in the 1970s and this book truly captured it. It brought back so many memories - I couldn't put it down!
