The legendary American rocker would have celebrated his 88th birthday today.
It therefore feels particularly fitting that October 3, 2026, should be the day we finally unveil something we've been working on for months: 'Eddie Cochran – The Complete Final Tour Experience'.
For me, though, this launch is about much more than a new Collector's Edition. It marks another chapter in a journey with Eddie Cochran's remarkable story that began for Dirty Stop Outs more than five years ago.

Back then, authors Adrian McKenna and John Firminger brought us an extraordinary project.
Their book, 'Eddie Cochran: A Fast Moving Beat Show – The Tragic Story of the Final Fatal UK Tour', painstakingly reconstructed Eddie's final British tour of 1960.
I've published a lot of books over the years, but the passion Adrian and John have for their subject has always stood out.
They haven't simply researched Eddie Cochran. They've spent years tracking down the people, places, photographs, memories and stories connected with those final weeks.
And I've been incredibly lucky to have been along for the ride.
Bringing Eddie Cochran's final UK tour back to life
Eddie Cochran arrived in Britain in January 1960 as one of America's brightest rock 'n' roll stars.

What followed was a remarkable tour alongside Gene Vincent that took them to theatres and venues across Britain.
Less than four months later, Eddie was dead.
On April 16, following the tour's final performance, Eddie left Bristol for London. He never made it.
He was just 21.
That knowledge inevitably hangs over the story. But what Adrian and John have always managed to capture is everything that came before it: the performances, friendships, fans and sheer excitement surrounding two young American rock 'n' roll stars travelling around Britain at the dawn of the 1960s.
Over the past five years, we've kept returning to that story.
New material has emerged. More memories have been captured. Our archive has grown. And the possibilities for what we could do with it have grown as well.
Eventually we started asking ourselves a different question.
What if, rather than simply producing another edition of the book, we could allow people to explore the story for themselves?
That's where the idea for 'The Complete Final Tour Experience' began.
More than an Eddie Cochran book
We've spent the past few months bringing together what I think is the most ambitious collector's experience Dirty Stop Outs has produced so far.
At its heart is a newly expanded A4 Collector's Edition of 'Eddie Cochran: A Fast Moving Beat Show – The Tragic Story of the Final Fatal UK Tour', featuring 16 additional pages and a completely new cover.
But this time, the physical book is only the beginning.
We've created a permanent digital archive that brings together nearly two hours of films and filmed interviews, more than 100 archive images and the Guitar Tricks Library, which explores Eddie Cochran's distinctive playing style.
Perhaps the elements I find most powerful are the connections with people who were actually there.
Tour support Vince Eager shares his first-hand memories of Eddie from the tour and those final days, while British '60s star Dave Berry recalls being a young fan, mesmerised by the American stars he was watching on stage.
These aren't simply words reproduced in the book. We've filmed their memories so that collectors can actually watch and hear those stories for themselves.
It brings another dimension to a story we've now been involved with for more than five years.
Creating an immersive piece of rock 'n' roll history
It's also part of something we've been trying to do increasingly at Dirty Stop Outs.
I don't want our books simply to sit on a shelf.
We're fortunate enough to work with some incredible archives, authors, interviewees and original material. Increasingly, we're looking at how we can use all of that to create experiences around the physical books.
Something to read, certainly, but also something to watch, listen to and explore.
The 'Complete Final Tour Experience' is probably the clearest expression of that idea we've produced yet.
Alongside the expanded physical book and permanent digital archive, the Collector's Edition comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, collector's bookmark and special Dirty Stop Outs gift presentation.
Only 1,000 copies of the complete experience will be produced worldwide.
Happy 88th birthday, Eddie
There have been plenty of late nights involved in getting this ready.
But launching it today makes all that work feel particularly worthwhile.
Eddie Cochran was born on October 3, 1938.

Eighty-eight years later, his music still has the ability to stop people in their tracks. His influence can still be heard in generations of musicians who followed him. And there remains an extraordinary affection for a young man whose career was over almost before it had properly begun.
For Adrian, John and everyone involved with Dirty Stop Outs, it's been a privilege to play a small part in keeping that story alive.
So today feels like the right day to begin its next chapter.
Happy birthday, Eddie.
