They say a picture says a thousand words – and our new book packed full of photos of revellers from the '80s is set to prove just that!
The brand new ‘Dirty Stop Out’s Guide to 1980s Chesterfield – In Pictures’ – which is now on sale – is crammed full of hundreds of pictures of life in the era dominated by nightclubs like the Aquarius, Moulin Rouge, Facination and the Adam & Eve.
The book is set to be the follow-up to the best-selling ‘Dirty Stop Out’s Guide to 1980s Chesterfield’ which was published in 2013.
The title was an overnight success when it was launched and went on to sell thousands of copies. Further editions followed on the 1960s, 1970s and the 1990s and a range of merchandise was launched in 2020.
Author Neil Anderson is now launching a new 1980s edition that’s purely made up of photos of revellers and more from the era.
He asked people to raid their photo albums and send him their pictures to be considered for inclusion.
Neil Anderson said: “The response has been incredible. Hundreds of photos were sent in. There was such an amazing variety of places to go out in Chesterfield in the ‘80s and the book is set to reflect this. There were so many local bands and vibrant club nights – the project has brought back some fantastic memories for me.”
