Do you share our passion for retro nightlife, fashion and music? Can you write?
We’re expanding our best-selling ‘Dirty Stop Out’s Guide’ series and we urgently need authors who can write about the nightlife of their own particular town or city.
Writers need to be able to truly capture the vibe of a decade through research, knowledge and interviewing the people that made the scene.
The first book in the series, ‘Dirty Stop Out’s Guide to 1970s Sheffield’, was an overnight sensation when it was launched.
It became a best seller in Waterstones and HMV and has featured everywhere from The Sun to BBC Radio 6.
Written by author Neil Anderson, it hit the national headlines after a photo contained in the book persuaded Chris and Ann Jackson to marry for the second time after they’d spent 26 years apart!
Guides to Sheffield in the ‘50s, ’60, ‘80s and ‘90s were also a success.
Neil Anderson said: “We’re keen to have the ‘Dirty Stop Out’s Guide’ in every town and city in the UK – we want to truly celebrate the vibe of bygone eras. We’re now looking for the writers with the local knowledge and enthusiasm.”
