Nightspots of the 1980s are set to celebrated in Chesterfield in November.
The sounds played at clubs like Moulin Rouge, Aquarius and the Adam & Eve will be on the turntables at Real Time Live when ‘EIGHTIES! THE BIGGEST REUNION… EVER! returns for the first time in over a year.
DJ Dave Whyld, who provided the tunes at popular 1980s’ local venues Montmartre and Moulin Rouge, returns to the decks with DJ Geoff Coates.
Dave remembers the 1980s as a great era for going out in the town.
He said: “It was a fantastic time to be growing up. There really was such much going on a so many venues.”
Dave remembers many great nights at the Moulin Rouge where he often DJed.
“I remember the night Simon Wickes, actor Nick Berry, of Eastenders did a PA at the Moulin Rouge. It was absolutely packed and women were throwing their knickers at him!”
The event takes place on Friday, November 13th and doors open at 9pm.
Tickets for ‘EIGHTIES! THE BIGGEST REUNION… EVER! are £8 each and available from www.acmretro.com or in person from Real Time Live or Tallbird Records.
The event is raising money for Ashgate Hospice.
Real Time Live is situated at 13 Marsden Street, Chesterfield S40 1JY.
